Katniss is a petite but beautiful mare. She is a graceful mover and very feminine. Katniss is very attentive and people oriented. Under saddle she does need clear boundaries or she has been known to take advantage and will buck. She can be a bit of a diva at times and thinks she knows it all so will take control of the ride if you let her. Although she is very smart and does try her hardest so usually ends up competing well even when she does control the ride and she is a fun ride because of it. She is a quick learner and hard worker. Over fences she is fabulous. She has some of the tightest legs over fences that we have seen. She tucks her legs right up under her chin and rarely even comes close to touching the jumps. She has a lot of potential for the jumper ring and we were very excited to purchase such a lovely bred mare.
RSs Katniss is by King of Pop a grand prix dressage winner who also competed to M** in show jumping. King of Pop is by Keanue a successful show jumping and dressage competitor. Keanue is the only son of Konigsbote. King of Pop is out of GNs Caloundra the daughter of RS Canberra a premium stallion who recieved an 8.2 at his licensing and competed to S show jumping. GNs Caloundra is out of BLs Maureen who also had potential for s level show jumping. BLs Maureen was the product of State Premium BLs Man in Black and BLs Gold Star. RSs Katniss is out of Hohensteins Ballerina Girl, a CIC**** winner and competitive in M dressage. Ballerina Girl is by Black Pearl a stallion who competed in eventing, show jumping and grand prix dressage.
