Cabalfa oder Alfa, wie wir sie rufen, ist eine recht augfeweckte, interessierte und ein wenig verspielte Stute. Sie kann sich für alle Gegenstände, ob fremd oder bekannt, begeistern und steckt ihre Nase für ihr Leben gern in Dinge, die sie nichts angehen. Aber auch mit anderen Pferden spielt Alfa, wenn sie jemanden findet, den sie dazu auffordern kann.. und wenn der Mensch mit einem Gymnastikball kommt, den sie nach Lust und Laune schubsen kann, findet sie das sowieso klasse. Genauso ist für sie das Springen mehr Spaß als Sport, mehr Spiel als Arbeit - ist doch lustig, so ein paar Stangen, oder einen Parcours nehmen. Gut, nicht immer gibt sie Vollgas und zieht so an wie man es von einem Springpferd erwartet, manchmal ist sie ein wenig übereifrig und verschätzt sich mit Distanzen, aber grundsätzlich hat sie ein gutes Gefühl für Sprünge und schätzt Entfernungen oder Kurven wie nebenbei ab. Die Dressur - ja, hm, die findet sie nicht so ganz spannend... klar, jeden Tag nur Springen würde ihr auch langweilig werden, da bieten die Lektionen und das Arbeiten an ihrer Haltung eine gute Abwechslung. Und natürlich ist es ganz nötig, denn auch wenn sie keineswegs heiß wird beim Springen, so kann man in der Dressur doch einfach besser an Durchlässigkeit und co arbeiten. Alles in allem ist sie also ein meist kooperatives, gut gelauntes Pferd, das man zwar manchmal konsequent zurück weisen muss, aber generell sehr angenehm im Umgang und beim Reiten ist.
