Auntie ist halbwild aufgewachsen und wurde mit 6 Jahren langsam an Menschen gewöhnt. Als sie kurze Zeit später zu uns kam, war alles noch sehr neu für sie. Selbst simple Dinge wie Halfter tragen, geführt oder geputzt werden, sind für sie keine Selbstverständlichkeit und fordern noch viel Konzentration und Aufmerksamkeit, sie scheint ständig angestrengt darüber nachzudenken, was das alles zu bedeuten hat und ist daher schon nach kleinen Übungseinheiten sehr platt.
Aber wir tasten uns langsam heran und inzwischen klappt der Alltag sehr gut. Auch beim Einreiten hat Auntie viel Misstrauen gezeigt, aber nie bösartig gehandelt und alles mal versucht. Deshalb ist die junge Stute inzwischen gut reitbar, auch wenn sie viel Geduld und Einfühlungsvermögen fordert.
Während sie in der Dressur noch ein wenig fremd wirkt, macht sich ihre wilde Jugendzeit im Gelände sehr stark bemerkbar. Nichts bringt die Stute aus der Fassung - außer vielleicht ihr Reiter - nie würde sie stolpern und wenn der Boden sich nicht dafür eignet, wird man Auntie niemals angetrabt bekommen. Sie springt jedes Geländehindernis wenn es nur irgendwie geht, selbst wenn der Reiter schief angeritten ist. Lediglich an Schnelligkeit mangelt es ihr, um in den höheren Klassen der Vielseitigkeit mitmischen zu können.
Mit anderen Pferden ist Auntie nicht zimperlich. Wenn sie sich mal wehrt, dann richtig. Allerdings machen die meisten ihrer Koppelgenossen auch nur einmal den Fehler, Auntie heraus zu fordern.
