"Name eines Drachen"
Reimir trägt einen Namen, der für nichts geringeres eine Bezeichnung ist als für Drachen. Der Name passt auf jeden Fall zu Reimir. Bereits nach kurzer Zeit erkennt man eindeutig, warum er diesen Namen erhalten hat. Bei seiner Zucht war es wortwörtlich ein Spiel mit dem Feuer, was man herausbekommt. Während sein Vater sehr lieb und unkompliziert ist und dies auch so weitergibt, ist die Mutter von Reimir eher kompliziert, eigenwillig und kann manchmal schon fast ein Ungeheuer sein. Im Laufe der Erziehung hat das wohl etwas auf Reimir abgefärbt, denn er ist definitiv kein Anfängerpferd. Reimir zeigt deutlich Dominanzverhalten und bringt auch viel Temperament mit. Es braucht gute Reiter mit viel Energie und Motivation, um ihn zu reiten. Denn um mit ihm klar zu kommen und langfristig gut und harmonisch zusammen zu arbeiten, darf man keine niedrige Frustrationsgrenze haben und muss aufmerksam sein. Die ersten Male, wenn man ihn reitet, versucht er nämlich einen auszutricksen. Erst nach einer gewissen Zeit akzeptiert er seine Reitenden und respektiert sie. Dann kann er in der Zusammenarbeit wirklich toll sein, sofern man seine Hilfen gut setzt. Denn Reimir ist ein sehr fein zu reitendes Pferd, das auf Hilfen sehr empfindlich reagiert. Kann man ihn jedoch reiten ist er wirklich toll. Er steht sehr gut an den Hilfen, ist furchtlos und fokussiert. Sein Trab, Galopp und Tölt sind gewaltig mit viel Schwung und sehr raumgreifend. Sein Pass ist sehr schnell und taktsicher, sein Schritt schreitend und anmutig. Auch sein gut gebautes und muskulöses Exterieur mit der langen Linie kombiniert mit dem guten Fundament überzeugt. Eines seiner charakteristischsten Merkmale sind jedoch seine eisblauen Augen, die nicht nur seine charakterliche Tiefe übermitteln, sondern stets aufmerksam umher schauen. In Kombination mit seinem dichten Behang in Form seiner wallenden Mähne, dem langen Schopf, der an einigen Tagen bis über seine Augen fällt, und seinem üppigem Schweif ist Reimir eine wahre Augenweide.
