Südwind beendete seine Renn"karriere" mit nur knapp vier Jahren. Der Braune lief nie zu einer Höchstform auf und hatte nur einen Sieg im Maidenrennen zu verbuchen. Für ihn war der Stress wohl zu viel, er zeigte sich auf der Rennbahn nie wirklich glücklich und ausgelassen. Daher wird er nun umgeschult und kann sich im Vielseitigkeitssport beweisen. Die Chance Deckhengst zu werden schwindet.
