Snowflake Shining ist eine selbstbewusste Paint-Horse Stute, die genau weiß, was sie will, und sich mit ruhiger Entschlossenheit durchsetzt. Ihre klare Körpersprache und ihr souveränes Auftreten machen sie zu einer Pferdepersönlichkeit, die Respekt einfordert – sowohl von ihrer Herde als auch von ihrem Reiter. Sie benötigt Menschen mit Feingefühl, die ihre Grenzen akzeptieren und sie gleichzeitig behutsam motivieren können, wenn sie sich von einer Aufgabe nicht sofort begeistern lässt. Besonders bemerkenswert ist Shinings Fürsorge für Fohlen: Mit großer Vorsicht und Geduld kümmert sie sich um die Kleinsten der Herde, schützt sie vor Konflikten und ist ihnen gegenüber stets sanftmütig. Aufdringliche Pferde hingegen duldet sie nicht in ihrer Nähe und macht das unmissverständlich klar. Ihre größte Leidenschaft ist frisches, saftiges Gras – am liebsten verbringt sie ihre Zeit auf einer ruhigen Wiese, fern von Trubel.
