Randir ist kein Pferd für schwache Nerven. Von klein auf hat er gezeigt, dass er sich nicht einfach in ein Schema pressen lässt – er denkt selbst, reagiert blitzschnell und testet gern seine Grenzen. Wer ihn drängen will, erlebt sofort, wie viel Kraft, Temperament und Eigenwillen in ihm stecken.
Gleichzeitig macht gerade das seinen Reiz aus: Randir ist klug, lernfähig und wenn man ihn fair behandelt, öffnet er sich und arbeitet begeistert mit. Er liebt klare Strukturen und Aufgaben, braucht aber regelmäßige Ventile für seine Energie – lange Galoppstrecken oder abwechslungsreiche Arbeit helfen ihm, ausgeglichen zu bleiben.
Trotz seiner Wildheit ist er kein „böses“ Pferd: Er ist neugierig, aufmerksam und hat eine feine Wahrnehmung. Mit der richtigen Führung kann er regelrecht glänzen – wie Anton zeigt, der Randir inzwischen wie ein offenes Buch lesen kann und trotzdem immer wieder neue Facetten entdeckt. Randir ist damit eher ein Ein-Reiter-Pferd. Nicht, weil er Probleme mit wechselnden Reitern hat, aber weil der Reiter seine Zeit brauchen wird, Randir gut kennen zu lernen und mit ihm klar zu kommen.
Im Umgang mit anderen Pferden ist Randir selektiv: Er duldet Nähe nicht von jedem und verteidigt sein persönliches Space mit Nachdruck. Mit Stuten verhält er sich korrekt, aber man vergisst nie, dass man einen Hengst in der Hand hat.
