Erna ist eine eher kleine Isländerstute, die im Allgemeinen eher unauffällig ist. Sie zeigt zwar auf der Weide viel Tölt und ist auch unter dem Sattel bei korrekter Hilfegebung bereit diesen zu zeigen, aber wirklich besonders ist ihr Tölt nicht. Das mag jetzt gemein sein, aber er hat einfach nicht das gewisse etwas, was Richter gerne auf Turnieren sehen wollen, weshalb die Stute vermutlich nicht für den Gangsport "taugt". Erna selbst ist eine sehr liebe und nahbare Stute, die es genießt im Mittelpunkt zu stehen und auch gerne ausgiebig geputzt wird. Wer sich mit ihr beschäftigt kann sich sicher sein, dass sie nach zwei Tagen die ganze Weide hochläuft, um einen fröhlich wiehernd zu begrüßen. Erna arbeitet gerne, ob unterm Sattel oder an der Hand. Ihr machen neue Herausforderungen Spaß und gerade ihre Neugierde macht sie zu einem Pferd für jedes Abenteuer. Erna hätte bestimmt viel Spaß an In-Hand Trail oder ähnlichen Aufgaben. Besonders ihre hohe Aufmerksamkeit, ihr Lernwille und auch ihre Umsicht machen sie zu einem Pferd, das viel Spaß daran hat auch an der Hand gefordert zu werden.
