Airpelz ist ein stattlicher Haflingerhengst, der seine Fans zu bestaunen weis. Egal ob unter dem Sattel oder an der Hand - der Hengst präsentiert sich steht und verzaubert alle mit seinen Charme. Sein Hauptpotenzial liegt im Dressursport, wo er bis aufs schwere Niveau der Ponyklassen kommt, mit Warmblütern hält er dort natürlich nicht mehr mit.
Auch am Sprung macht sich der Blondschopf sehr gut. Er zeigt eine super Sprungtechnik und kann sich die Distanz sehr gut einteilen, einzig am Wassergraben wird er etwas unsicher, obwohl er eigentlich eine richtige Wasserrate ist und gerne im Bach oder See baden geht. Steht ihm hier der Reiter mit Hilfe und Mut zur Seit sind auch Wassergraben kein Problem mehr für den Hengst. Im Umgang mit Menschen weiß Airpelz sich stehts zu benehmen. Auch wenn seine Hengstigkeit beim Geruch einer rossenden Stute durchkommt, kommt er schnell wieder runter und ist so auch von kleineren Menschen gut zu händeln. Was er im umgang für sich behält, lässt er beim Tierarzt raus. Der Arzt ist nämlich ein rotes Tuch für den Hengst, denn erlässt ihn nur ungern an sich heran. Hier heißt es
