"Was? So klein ist die? Sieht die gar nicht nach aus!" Ja das hören wir hier immer und immer wieder. Gerade weil sie mit unseren großen zusammen gefahren wird die alle ein Stockmaß von über 1.70 m haben, doch dadurch das Amkje sehr muskulös ist und nicht wie ein reiner Sportfriese aussieht, deckt sich ihre Größe ganz gut ab und man sieht kaum das sie nur 1.58 m ist. Amkje ist im Umgang eher vorsichtig als aufdringlich, weshalb sie auch nicht unbedingt ein Anfängerpferd ist. Sie liebt es Aufmerksamkeit zu bekommen, ist kinderlieb und auch sehr zuverlässig was die Arbeit angeht. Unterm Sattel geht sie mit ihrem Reiter durch dick und dünn, was sich aber auch auf das Fahren überträgt - denn auch dort will sie einen Fahrer haben dem sie vertrauen kann. Amkje ist sehr menschenbezogen und steht daher auch gerne im Mittelpunkt - wenn man ihr dies nicht gibt, kann sie auch mal einen ziemlichen Dickkopf bekommen. Vorm Wagen hat sie sehr viel Vorwärtsdrang, was gerade beim Hindernis- und Geländefahren zugute kommt, allerdings muss man bei der Dressur schon aufpassen, dass sie einem nicht wegrennt - denn das tut sie sehr gerne."
