More information

Summer first came to me through Klaverweide, the Dutch branch of the now-deceased Valiant Warmbloods. The mare had ended up there when she was young, mainly for her family. The intention had been to race it a bit, and transfer it to breeding at a young age. However, when I finished Valiant, I went to Holland myself to see the horses living there, planning the future of each of them myself. That raucous beauty immediately caught my eye (heh, of course, since I can't resist big-brand raucous anyway), and I told the staff that under no circumstances should it be sold. In the spring of 2016, I was left with a finished stable, and a hellish amount of horses that I didn't know how to do anything with. The place of residence for all of them was known, but it felt like I had to start the whole previous project from the beginning, this time much more challenging due to the unnaturally large number of horses.

Fortunately, things started to go well, and soon I had founded a new half-breed stable, Joyance. Summer was one of those horses that became my favorites right from the start, and today she is very special to me in many ways. After all, it is, among other things, my first VIR MVA Ch-awarded horse, and thus one of the inspirations for organizing my own exhibitions. Contrary to the original plans, the mare's racing career was extended, and with her we were able to try a few more steeplechase races even though she had already foaled twice in her former home. At the beginning of Joyance, Summer once foaled from the top stallion Werneri's World of our former collaboration stable Royal Gear, bringing into the world a wonderful black stallion Warrior's Blade Joy. Even after this, we still had time to both compete and train with the mare, and our future looks very successful, thanks to the most wonderful mare in the world.

Now that Joyance was finished, Summer traveled with me once again to a new stable, this time to Valenwood. Maybe little by little we will know how to settle down with the mare...
