Salino ist das erste Hengstfohlen von der auf Privatstall Animus stationierten Stammstute Vanderbildt GLF. Die Hannoveranerstute war stets erfolgreich in Dressurprüfungen bis zur schweren Klasse und hat einige Fohlen bekommen, die ebenfalls erfolgreich in der Dressur unterwegs sind. Sein Vater MIUS Skartaris kommt aus einer finnischen Hengstlinie, was seine Blutlinie sehr interessant macht. Auch Skartaris besitzt Potenzial für die ganz schwere Dressur, was aber leider nicht auf Salino übertragen wurde.
Salino ist zu einem sehr selbstbewussten, aber trotzdem ruhigem Pferd heran gewachsen. Er ist sehr menschenbezogen und baut schnell Vertrauen auf. Zudem weiß der junge Hengst ganz genau, wie er sich benehmen muss und was er nicht darf. Im Umgang ist er also ein richtiger kleiner Schatz. Auch unter dem Sattel macht der Hengst sich wirklich gut. Er lernt zwar nicht ganz so schnell wie andere Pferde und hat auch nicht ganz so viel Potenzial, wie wir es uns eigentlich erhofft hatten, doch durch seine Bemühungen und seinen tollen Charakter macht er das fehlende Potenzial wieder wett.
Salino ist etwas ganz besonderes - nicht nur, weil er das erste Hengstfohlen von Vanderbildt ist. Er hat einen total liebenswerten Charakter und könnte später durchaus auch für Anfänger geeignet sein.
