Aufmerksam und aufmerksamkeitsbedürftig, wie sie ist, steht Bethan meistens gleich als erste am Koppelzaun, wenn ein junger Mensch vorbei kommt. Oder ein Zweibeiner, der sich gerne in ihren Sattel schwingt, einer, der oft Leckerli dabei hat oder einfach jemand, den sie noch nicht kennt... eigentlich hat man sie immer an der Backe, auch, wenn man ein ganz anderes Pferd holen wollte. Das ist vielleicht ein bisschen gemein gesagt, denn Bethan ist eigentlich eine ganz Süße, freundlich, verschmust, kinderlieb und auch sehr einfach im Umgang. Keineswegs drängelt sie, ist respektlos oder bedrängt gar den Menschen - aber sie würde eben gerne gestreichelt werden, und ist auch sehr ausdauernd, wenn es darum geht, dem Zweibeiner nachzudackeln - mit ausreichend Abstand, aber ohne soviel Distanz aufkommen zu lassen, dass man sie nicht mehr bemerkt. Abgesehen davon, dass sie sehr verschmust ist und gerne Beachtung hat, ist sie im Umgang wirklich kinderleicht - beim Führen, Putzen und co ist sie unerschrocken und weiß, worauf sie aufpassen muss: Nicht auf die komischen weichen Hufe der Zweibeiner treten, nicht zu fest anstoßen und ganz besonders bei den Kleinen immer nur ganz langsam nähern, bis sie von sich aus herstürmen. Bethan ist wirklich freundlich, bei Fehlern jeglicher Art immer nachsichtig und nützt die Schwächen der Menschen nicht aus. So ähnlich ist es auch beim Reiten, auch hier ist sie sehr bemüht und dem Menschen wohlgesinnt. Sie fordert aber weiterhin Aufmerksamkeit des Reiters ein und ist auch leicht zu begeistern, wodurch ihre Ruhe und auch ihre wohlüberlegte Vorsicht ein wenig nachlassen. Auch wenn man es der gemütlichen, kleinen Stute nicht auf den ersten Blick zutraut, Bethan kann auch flott laufen und sehr ausdauernd sein. Vorausgesetzt, sie hat Spaß und der Reiter ist auch wirklich mit Eifer dabei - und das geht meistens Hand in Hand. Großen Spaß hat sie oft mit Kindern, aber auch professionelles Training findet sie ganz cool. Nur wenn der Reiter oben einfach nur ein Programm abspult oder nebenbei am Handy quatscht, ohne ihr genügend Beachtung zu schenken, vergeht ihr die Lust und sie kann störrisch oder ungeduldig werden.
